Saying poker is all the same is like saying all animals are too. Clearly that is a ridiculous notion that needs to be put away asap. Texas Holdem poker is similar to other kinds in the way that there are cards involved and there is a pot of money to be won, but it is it’s own unique game of both skill and chance.

Your goal when playing this poker game is to bet and adjust your bets based on the card hand you hold in combination with the community cards the dealer has left on the table. These are the cards that are placed face up for everyone to use in conjunction with the two private cards they have been dealt by the dealer. There will be several deals, bets and raises and whoever has the best cards at the end wins the pot.

This is a fast growing game in terms of its popularity. It is an option in virtually every casino in gambling towns like Atlantic City, Vegas and Reno and online casinos like bwin also have tables for you to play on. If you follow poker championships at all on TV you have probably seen Texas Holdem televised as well.
